Second seeded Daniil Medvedev became the first semifinalist of the US Open.

Medvedev defeated Botik van de Sandshulp of the Netherlands (ATP No. 117) in four sets.

Prior to this match, Medvedev had not lost a single set at the tournament.

In the semifinals he will play against Felix Auger-Allassim of Canada (ATP #15) or Carlos Alcaraz of Spain (ATP #55).
