Barcelona 2010 Superior Security Commission has been constituted

Joan Delort, Security Secretary of the Department of Interior of the Catalonia's Regional Council, will be the President of the Superior Security Commission of the European Athletics Championships Barcelona 2010, according to what was decided in today's meeting in which this organisation has been formally constituted. The event has had place in the offices of the same department and it has counted on the presence of two very outstanding representatives of Barcelona 2010, Pere Alcober, President of the Executive Committee, and Monica Barra, General Coordinator.
 
The Superior Commission is the main organ of the Championships Security Master plan. Depending on it there are: the Superior commission, which  will be constituted in a couple of weeks and that will be presided by Joaquim Belenguer, superintendent of Generalitat de Catalunya police department, and  the Technical Office as well which it will have Joan Lluis Cordon, police inspector of Generalitat de Catalunya, as its visible head.
 
Barcelona 2010 Security Master Plan is the main tool of the General Direction and of the Planning Control that will let to lead, plan, programme, coordinate and control many different factors, actors, heterogeneous and interdependent projects with the objective of guaranteeing the normal development of this great sports event. Delort has added that the coordination amongst all of the commissions is essential and that "the Superior Commission should not clash but support the organisation of the event”.
 
The plan is made up of five stages that will be begun next month.
