Juan Antonio Samaranch will attend the Meeting Ciutat de Barcelona

The honorary president of the International Olympic Committee, Juan Antonio Samaranch, has confirmed he will come to the  Meeting Ciutat de Barcelona next Saturday. The Catalan leader is a great fan of Athletics and he has proved that on several times.
 
On the president's box of the Olympic stadium Lluis Companys he will meet Barcelona's Major Jordi Hereu, who will attend this great event in spite of his tight agenda, specially on a day on which he has to focus all his attention on the Congress of the Partit de Socialistes de Catalunya.
 
Samaranch, a notable fan of athletics, has attended all the world championships editions since the early beginnings in 1983. Two years ago, he went to Goteborg with the city team in order to promote the European Championship Barcelona 2010, along 7 during the days it lasted.
 
The meeting Ciutat de Barcelona will take place in the Olympic Stadium of Montjuic. It will begin at 6:30 PM. This will be its 14th edition, the first one of this new phase that will be led by Barcelona 2010. The former edition was celebrated in the year 2000.
