Mbango is going to take part in the Triple Jump festival

The Cameroonian Francoise Mbango, Olympic champion in Triple Jump in Athens, will participate in that discipline in the Meeting Ciutat de Barcelona. With this last registration the list of outstanding athletes competing in the Meeting Ciutat de Barcelona gets insuperable levels. Mbango has not reached, so far, this season, the level she had the year in which the Olympic Games of Athens were celebrated. At that time she got a best of 15,30m. Hhowever she has already jumped in Burdeos 14,93m. She is on the third position in the 2008 world ranking.

With Mbango's registration, the four best athletes of this season will compete in Montjuic in an event that without any doubt will be the competition with the highest level of quality in the Meeting due to the prestige and the background records of the participants. We can not forget the presence of Carolina Kluft face to her close Olympic debut in Triple Jump and of course Carlota Castrejana who has just got 14,29m in Alcalá de Henares, the top Spanish mark this year.

In Discus Throwing men Virgilius Alekna won´t be in the starting list of the Meeting. Alekna, who is the second best athlete this season in his discipline, has sent a fax explaining that he has to participate this weekend in the National Championships of his country, Lithuania.
